If you are looking for a change of pace and seeking for some escape from the heat of a busy city, then head up to Da Lat (Đà Lạt). Situated 300 km north of Saigon at the southern tip of central highlands, Da Lat is called as “Sapa of the South”, which is the entirely different world from other areas of Vietnam (Việt Nam). Because Da Lat is about 1.5km above the sea level, it has a unique climate in compared with other cities of Vietnam. This means local people here could cultivate the fresh veggies, amazing tea and coffee, and an incredibly variety of flora. Has long been known as a retreat for the nobility of Vietnam, Da Lat is the perfect choice for those people who are seeking natural beauty and relaxation.

When arriving at this city, you will undoubtedly witness tandem bicycles, cozy couples, and young students all blending into the romantic and peaceful scenery. All of them give this town such a lovely air of old-school romance. Nevertheless, this peaceful town has plenty of activities for tourists to enjoy. Countless wonderful excursions can fill your travelling days, including visiting to some traditional local minority villages, riding bicycles through those nearby pine forests, and fiercely abseiling down the pristine waterfalls.

When the twilight fades away, mysterious night falls over this city; the wind brings cold air up through the mountains and hills, at night, Da Lat becomes a different world than it is during the colorful day. Da Lat boasts unique features which lure tourists at night: balmy, quiet, but vivid. At nights, Da Lat characterizes a slightly cold but romantic mist that covers the scenery. Da Lat nightlife is spectacular because the whole city becomes so active and is crowded with a lot of people. However, to be honest, Da Lat nightlife is not diversified, yet if tourists really want to enjoy Da Lat nightlife themselves, they could definitely find quite a few interesting sites at the more up-market venues. 8. Da Lat Night Market

An experience at Da Lat Night Market is not similar to anywhere else in Da Lat. Having a night shopping at Da Lat Night Market is really worthwhile that represents the heart of this city. This market is located in the city centre, inside the Hoa Binh zone, around Tang Bat Ho Street, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, and Le Dai Hanh Street. A unique feature of this night market is the “shouting market” which could be found on the upper floor of the market, where the clothes are sold. The vendors present their goods from 4pm. The name “Shouting market” is resulted from the fact that when the buys wander in the rhythmic shouting of the sellers who try to attract the attention of the buyers through their voice.

Besides, sweet corns, grilled chicken, beans, sea food, beans, and hot soya milk drinks are some of the most popular food items sold out here.

After 5 pm, kiosks along the street lining Da Lat Night Market quickly change their appearance. The daytime flower vendors are replaced with icy food vendors. The atmosphere of Da Lat Night Market becomes busier. Especially, if you intend to buy clothes with reasonable or cheap prices, then this is your ideal option. With just $1-$2, you can buy some unique clothes.

Tourists should also have a taste of hot grilled rice crepes (local name “bánh tráng nướng”) in the chilly but romantic atmosphere of Da Lat, or some other grilled dishes. Really, these foods taste amazing and will leave you an unforgettable culinary experience.

On weekends, tourists could stroll to the market on the pedestrian walkway, which is open around 7pm and 10pm.

In the evening, in front of the Da Lat night market, the street is nicely lighted with neon lights from the street-side shops. The roads around this market are closed to traffic and the market almost spills on to the surrounding streets.
