Presidential Palace Historical Site (Khu di tích Phủ Chủ tịch), which is located in Hanoi, Vietnam, is the place where Ho Chi Minh used to live and work in most of his revolutionary life (from December 19, 1954, to September 2, 1969). This site was ranked as a relic site by the Ministry of Culture and Information of Vietnam on May 15th, 1975. Currently, it has been included in the list of 23 special national relics by the Prime Minister of Vietnam.

This land was originally the northwestern part of the Citadel of the ancient Thang Long Citadel. When French colonialism invaded Vietnam, after invading Northern Vietnam, the colonialism chose Hanoi as the center of the whole Indochina, and the French Governor-General of Indochina was built on this land.

At the Presidential Palace, President Ho Chi Minh received many guests who were delegations of political parties, unions, and religions; deputies of workers, farmers, intellectuals, military; deputies of ethnic minorities; delegates of the people of Southern Vietnam and soldiers of People’s Liberation Armed Forces of South Vietnam (called off “South Vietnamese soldiers”). On February 9, 1955, the Presidential Palace was opened for teenagers to have an opportunity to visit him. He also held many children’s painting exhibitions here.

After President Ho Chi Minh passed away, the Presidential Palace became a historic relic. It is an attractive place for many domestic and international tourists. When Ho Chi Minh Museum was established on September 12, 1977, this area belongs to the management of the Ho Chi Minh Museum. On November 6, 1992, the Presidential Palace relic was separated from Ho Chi Minh Museum, and then it belongs to the Ministry of Culture and Information.
