Cultural Village Of Vietnamese Ethnic Minority Groups is located at Dong Mo Village, Son Tay Town, Ba Vi District, Hanoi, Vietnam. The village was established on September 19th, 2010 to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Hanoi. With a total area of 1,544 hectares, the town was built in architectural styles of 54 Vietnamese Ethnic Minority Groups. It also has exclusive areas for organizing festivals and sports activities.

The village is a natural model which brings the social features of all regions of Vietnam with hills, valleys, mountains, and lakes. It is divided into 4 clusters. The first cluster is the cultures and scenes of 28 ethnic groups from Northeast, Northwest, and North Central mountain. The second cluster includes the artistic works and landscapes of 18 groups in South-Central and Central Highlands. The third cluster presents characteristics of ethnic groups residing in mountains, Highland, and hills. The last cluster is the cultures and architectures of the ethnic groups living in hills, coastal, river banks, and towns.

Tourist Information

Best time to visit:

Cultural Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Minority Groups opens every day for tourists. The best time to visit is from April 28th to May 3rd when the festivals of 6 Vietnamese ethnic minority groups in the North are taken place.

Ticket fee:

  • Adult: VND 30,000
  • Students at universities, colleges, etc.: VND 10,000
  • Pupil at Primary, Secondary, and High School: VND 5,000

When visiting the Cultural Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Minority Groups, tourists will have a chance to explore the traditional festivals of Vietnam and experience exciting activities. Some famous festivals in the village are the festival to pray for rain Cor (Quang Nam), rice sowing festival (Kon Tum), cow racing Seven Mountains (An Giang), Cai Rang floating market (Can Tho), and so on. All of the festivals bring tourists an enjoyable experience and help them learn about the traditional culture of each ethnic people. You can also listen to the sounds of gongs, sing in the festivals, and see the daily works of the ethnic groups. When some people of the ethnic groups move to the village, they carry and play their traditional instruments and sing their classic songs in their language to attract tourists.

Moreover, coming to Cultural Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Minority Groups, you are guided to participate in the exciting activities of festivals including:

  • Exploring the houses of each ethnicity including Khmer, Ede, Bah Nar, Giarai, Muong, and Cham. Moreover, you can admire the famous architectural works in the world which are reappeared such as The Great Wall of China, Egyptian Pyramids, and Eiffel Tower.
  • Participating in Bamboo Dancing (Nhảy sạp) with Thai Ethnic group or watching a Khen (Khèn) performance, you will learn how to dance under the guidance of Thai people.
  • Joining in some traditional games of Vietnamese Ethnic Minority Groups such as throwing cotton ball game (Ném còn), walking on stilts (Đi cà kheo), and so on.
  • Taking beautiful photos of the unique architectures of Vietnam.
  • Visiting some famous destinations near the village such as Dong Mo Valley or Son Tinh camp.
