Nha Trang is a major tourist coastal city of Vietnam. Every year, this place attracts millions of both domestic and foreign tourists to visit and relax. In addition to the famous sights such as Dai Lanh (Đại Lãnh), and Binh Hung (Bình Hưng), famous islands such as Hon Tre (Hòn Tre), Binh Ba (Bình Ba), and Binh Lap (Bình Lập) , when coming to Nha Trang, visitors also have the opportunity to explore historical monuments and cultural buildings with unique architecture. One of Nha Trang attractions that visitors should not miss is Nha Trang cathedral.

The Unique Beauty Of Nha Trang Church

Nha Trang cathedral is located on Thai Nguyen Street (Đường Thái Nguyên) in Nha Trang City. Every year, this church attracts many visitors, especially foreigners. This cathedral also has other names like Mountain Church (Nhà Thờ Núi), Stone Church (Nhà Thờ Đá), Nga Sau Church (Nhà Thờ Ngã Sáu).

From afar, the cathedral is like an ancient castle made of gray stone plates. The most unique feature of this cathedral is the bronze bell hanging on the bell tower. They are not a usual bell, but rather of the famous Bourdon Carillon bell.

When walking through the Tien Dan door of Nha Trang Cathedral, you will encounter a vast space filled with light. That is the cathedral. The Cathedral is an open space for Gothic architecture with bent and wide arches heading towards the sky. The most unique things are decorative patterns like the straight lines that make up the simple and harmonious but also very dignified beauty.

The walls at Nha Trang Cathedral are characterized by special paintings. Designers have also been very clever and sophisticated when it comes to installing a variety of glasses into the dome to exploit the sunshine of both East and West. All features create a beautiful and gentle scene, dispel the feeling of cold, and soothe the solemn atmosphere that is usually found in places of worship.

When you walk into the cathedral, you will be overwhelmed by its wide and high internal space. As you look up at the ceiling of the dome which is shaded by colorful glass windows, you will see the two sides of the wall that are sacred Jesus statues. The sunshine shimmering into that space creates more magical and mystical sensations.

Going along the side of the church, visitors will pass through a row of square pillars. Despite their age, they still retain their distinctive architecture – arches and patterns characterizing Catholicism.
